For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. Jeremiah 29:11-14

Crazy kids...

Alyssa, Brandon, Dylan and our Marine, Anthony
Am I the only one that struggles to get all of her kids looking at the camera at the same time, ready for the picture? The only one of my kids that fully cooperated with our traditional Easter morning picture was Anthony. There was a glare on the glass of the picture frame, but at least he held the same expression. :)

This Easter, with Anthony gone, we decided to include him in our "traditional photo" and use his boot camp picture. He is always in our thoughts and prayers and on Easter Sunday, he was a constant on my mind. It's never easy being away from my kids, but this deployment is a tough one on my heart. I know he is in God's hands though...for that I am thankful! There is NO better place to be!

Easter Day was a busy, but blessed one! We had a wonderful service at church, then rushed home to make a salad and go to my hubby's parents house for the family dinner. It was a relaxed visit and we enjoyed hearing stories from Wade's grandmother about her family (her grandparents and parents). Always a favorite of mine....hearing about the lives of family members that lived their lives and died before us. So much to learn from how they lived, I often miss my grandparents for that reason...all of the untold stories that we missed hearing.

I pray you and your families had a wonderful Easter weekend together!

What a great picture of your kids Valerie! Even if Anthony is only there in his picture. :)

Isn't it hard to take pictures of the kids when not everyone is there? With two of mine gone and one just never home - it sorta makes me sad to not have pictures with the whole group anymore. But like you I know these kids are in God's hands and you are right - it is the best place for them to be!!! All of my grandparents are in heaven now and my husband never really knew his - I miss the stories as well - but my Dad is a wonderful story teller so my kids get the priveledge of hearing great stories (and they love it!!)

I just want to tell you I love the pictures on your header and I think your garden is absolutely beautiful!!! I am dreaming about acreage right now!!!

Great to hear from you again, Valarie! I just love that you included your Marine son in the Easter photo. My BIL came home today from his 4th deployment to the Gulf. We are so proud of him and so thankful he is home safe. I pray your son will come home safely as well. Blessings, Jackie
